Real facts, to discuss…

You are in agreement with which this is an attack against the privacy of the people?
In my opinion this arrives at an end and seems difficult to know where is the line that separates the protection of the privacy with a real obsession with the private life of each one.

- In Shulman v. Group W Productions, the court concluded that two people injured in a car accident could sue for invasion of privacy because a cameraman recorded emergency care given in a rescue helicopter. According to the court, while the accident victims could not claim a reasonable expectation of privacy at the accident scene (where they were recorded by the same cameraman), they could claim a reasonable expectation of privacy in the rescue helicopter, even if they expected that their conversations in the helicopter would be overheard.

Internet privacy

Millions of people are subject to privacy threats by Internet.

Companies are hired not only to watch what you visit online, but to infiltrate the information and send advertising based on your browsing history. People set up accounts for Facebook; enter bank and credit card information to various websites.

Internet privacy involves the desire or mandate of personal privacy concerning transactions or transmission of data via the Internet. It also involves the exercise of control over the type and amount of information revealed about a person on the Internet and who may access said information.

People with only a casual concern for Internet privacy need not achieve total anonymity. Internet users may achieve an adequate level of privacy through controlled disclosure of personal information. The revelation of IP addresses, non-personally-identifiable profiling, and similar information might become acceptable trade-offs for the convenience that users could otherwise lose using the workarounds needed to suppress such details rigorously. On the other hand, some people desire much stronger privacy. In that case, they may try to achieve Internet anonymity to ensure privacy — use of the Internet without giving any third parties the ability to link the Internet activities to personally-identifiable information (P.I.I.) of the Internet user. In order to keep your information private, people need to be careful on what they submit and look at online. When filling out forms and buying merchandise, that becomes tracked and because your information was not private, companies are now sending you spam and advertising on similar products.

Risk to internet privacy
Those concerned about Internet privacy often cite a number of privacy risks — events that can compromise privacy — which may be encountered through Internet use. These methods of compromise can range from the gathering of statistics on users, to more malicious acts such as the spreading of spyware and various forms of bugs (software errors) exploitation.

On Facebook for example privacy settings are available for all registered users. The settings available on Facebook include the ability to block certain individuals from seeing your profile, the ability to choose your "friends," and the ability to limit who has access to your pictures and videos.

Data retention, a new business?

At the moment we could say that in Internet we found all the data of our lives. When we were born, our data happen to comprise of a data base in the hospital, soon in the adolescence we overturned all our life in Internet, our photos, our tastes, friendly, etc.
When we are adult we used Internet like a work tool, of leisure, but also, and very important, to make us the life easier.
We buy by Internet, we realised banking transferences and other many things, and doing those things of digital form entails a reduction of the time, the red tape, and therefore of the costs. We asked ourselves as they are the consequences of this, and in others, we can emphasize the creation of a new market, the one of data storage. The economy has brought a great amount of data, and with them the necessity to store them. It is possible to be kept information on clients, markets, competitors, tendencies of market… the possibilities that Internet offers to keep information and data are infinite, therefore is a good business and the companies are prepared to pay for that reason. If the companies are not able to store of safe form their data they are the condemned to be ineffective.

No longer only one is to keep data, but also to do it of safe form, and allowing to be able to rescue them of fast and trustworthy form from any place. Each company has its own system of data storage and IBM wants to create one standard that makes possible a greater fluidity and communication between companies, in fact has created already it although not yet it is being used. If this took would appear certain advantages, for example, Internet practically provides a market infinitely, although we would have to tell on a flexible system that it allowed us to be constantly adapting us to the changes that take place in the company.

“To store million data it can be a great business, some say that the business of the century, for the great computer science manufacturers. Many companies know so clearly the advantages of this new segment that have reoriented their strategies towards the market of the systems where the companies keep and manage their information. The business is so important that some companies as Compaq have created a specific world-wide unit of business.”

I read this interesting article, this in relation with the intellectual property, so I decided to put it to you. This opinion article appeared in a Spanish newspaper, to read it and to verify if you are or not in agreement with him.
The law against the illegal downloadings does not go only against the majority of the internauts, but also against history. The operation of the rights of author in music is a connected industrial practice with the distribution of music in a hardware (the disc first, the CD later). Internet supposes a change in the way to make music, and in the new model no longer recorded music will be sold. The musicians will gain the life they did since it before the existence of discs and, as in 95% of they do it today to the cases: touching live.

Music will not disappear by this. Music became before the existence of the copyright, and it will be continued making music after the disappearance of the copyright. It is only necessary to think about patrimony of pop music that has been created without the shelter of any copyright. The musicians will continue gaining the life have done as always it, and the downloadings free will be a good way to become publicity.

What yes it will disappear system is to star and the record industry. But this does not have anything to do with the unloadings. The product of the record industry already is anachronistic, and by the laws of the market it does not have another possibility that to disappear, as well as the constructors did of cars of horses at the beginning of century XX.

What is Intellectual Property?

Intellectual property (IP) refers to creations of the mind: inventions, literary and artistic works, and symbols, names, images, and designs used in commerce.

Intellectual Property is divided into two categories: Industrial property, which includes inventions (patents), trademarks, industrial designs, and geographic indications of source; and Copyright, which includes literary and artistic works such as novels, poems and plays, films, musical works, artistic works such as drawings, paintings, photographs and sculptures, and architectural designs. Rights related to copyright include those of performing artists in their performances, producers of phonograms in their recordings, and those of broadcasters in their radio and television programs.

With the Internet birth a problematic around the intellectual property, now is possible to pass music, films or any type to us of documents by Internet, besides all the pages and programs that exist to be able to download them directly. This has taken that it is not clear that is the author of all these documents, or that this one, according to some, does not receive sufficient compensation by his work.

In theory the easiest option would be to prohibit the free downloadings by Internet, to close the pages Web that violate the right of intellectual property. Of this form we avoided that people profit from the other people's work.
But we made this decision, since it has happened in Spain, we will be committing some errors, the most important it is than we violated a fundamental right: The freedom of expression. But in addition it is that the majority of the pages Web uses images, videos, etc. that have author right, therefore if those pages were closed all we could be speaking of almost the totality of the Internet content.

But he is not right either that we used freely, the work of others, , right is that we have its authorization, currently artists and creators are realizing that the future is in internet, the efforts do not have to go to sell many CD but rather to obtain that Internet music arrives at everybody. If we want to make the things well we do not have because to resort to download archives to us illegally. Every time more pages exist than they provide materials to us of totally legal way For example:
in the Web page "
http://www.pro-music.org/ " you can find connections to hundreds of legal pages of music worldwide, classified by countries.

Collected data of
national

statistics

institute:

-

In 2006, in Spain 135 million films were downloaded illegally
.

- 50% of the Spanish people between 16 and 24 years go to networks P2P to download all type of archives: films, series, computer science music, programs…

Due to the important of the personal computer in our lives and at the time we spent with it. It seems to me interesting that we considere these advice for it correct use.
I hope that they serve to you:

Television and social networks: Working together.

Tuenti, Facebook, Twitter, messenger,... There are many social networks, new technologies are very present in society and how to use them is very important. But in spite its disadvantages like the lack of security, the lack of privacy or inappropriate use by minors, we also have ma
ny advantages, previously only used to maintain contact with people who were far, to know new people from all over the world, but now began to be used as a medium for advertising.

Many programs of television are using these social networks to obtain public, realise surveys, give the possibility of choosing contents of the program by means of Internet, etc. The social networks have happened “to carry out” whole sections of programs.
The British young people are taking towards a new television due to the tendency of the social networks, which could have great reach for the world of the broadcasting and the publicity, it emphasized a report of Clarity Agency, expert in digital marketing.

According to a survey of 1300 users of movable Internet in UK underneath the 25 years, we see that the great majority uses a movable device to speak with its friendly ones on the program that are seeing in the TV.

The tendency of social television exhibited by the study, could change to the panorama for the broadcasters and advertisers to manage to attract youngest. Eight of each ten responded that they had used Twitter, Facebook or another movable application to actively comment in programs and to chat with his friend while they watch.

One of the most important findings of the study is that the popularity of the social television must to that the young people can make a commentary to all friendly in real time in each of their favorite programs. “They are in different cities, but it is like being next to them to watch”, commented a student of 20 years of age in the survey.

The British study found that the most common to communicate form is Twitter, with 72 per cent, followed by Facebook with a 56% and other mobile applications, with a 34%. 62% Of the users of social TV, combines the three.

A 34% of the survey ones expressed that the tendency is funny; a 32% that did the most interesting television and 42% mentioned the community that forms behind them.

We can find many examples on the use that this making the television of the social networks, for example:
Channel HBO in the United States displayed the film “Private Parts” at the sa
me time as it provided live commentaries in social networks, received very positive valuations than it could have anticipated in a so old film.

My experience...

Now I'm in a school doing practices, I am teaching English to children aged 10 years, I have waited to finish the topic to comment my experience here. The unit was: "Animals", is a fun topic for children, which is why I have not found many problems in class. We have carried out many activities, but which shall refer here, are those related to new technologies.

Children have a personal computer, so thanks to the internet you can make an infinite number of activities.

I have used these two websites for those children become familiar with vocabulary. Children worked very well with these activities, because they were a way to learn playing.

Click here and here and you can see the websites.

Spain next week we are celebrating the Carnival, that is why my last activity has been based on a website where children would dress as animals.I was giving clues about how to do so, for example: we are going to put a snake tail, ears of an elephant, etc.

To finish each pupil it has chosen a way of disguising his character, they have made it with their computer then they have copied it in a cardboard and we have decorated the class with children´s drawings.

Click in the photo and proves the website.

By the way...You are all invited to come in Carnival, you do not forget your disguise¡¡¡ :)

In the first video we can see some ideas for use the new technologies in the classroom:

The second video is a Spanish school where the teachers organize a meeting so that it was possible to be seen as they work in center:

New technologies in the schools

Nowdays we are surrounded by new technologies, it is therefore important that from school we teach students to give a correct use of them.

With this aim the Spanish education system has launched project “School 2.0”: "Project school 2.0 is a project of integration of the technologies of information and communication (technology ICT) in schools which provides the personalized use of a personal computer for every student. But it is not just give each student a personal computer, is also implement the "digital classroom" of 21st century equipped with technological infrastructure and basic connectivity to open the classroom to the reality…"

The first step was to provide personal computer to students ages 10-11 and later students between 11 and 14 years old.

Step by step are transforming classrooms in "digital classroom" are replacing the blackboard by digital whiteboards, computers being installed for teachers, Wi-Fi in the classrooms, etc. This has caused the main problem today, bad preparation of teachers to teach using new technologies, while the Ministry of education has launched on-line courses on instruments ICT for teacher training, they are few performing these courses and therefore not be maximized resources available to the classroom.

School 2.0 proposed use digital tools to complement the traditional model of education, enhance visual learning of students, enhance their participation, their motivation and theircreativity, provide attractive and documented classes and much more.

The creation of these digital classrooms is an adaptation of the school organization, including staff of the center.
On the other hand, the extension of classroom space will result in the
contacts and mentoring with families could be done through virtual classrooms. This represents a radical change in the way of teaching, learning and assessment.

The participation of the families of the students is one of the essential parts of the program, because the computer is a personal instrument of each student. The involvement of students and families in the use and care of equipment and proper use of connectivity is a task to do together.

Advantages and Disadvantages of Technology in Education

After reading about new technologies in the classroom I can find advantages and disadvantages in the use of these.

Advantages:

Nowadays, the educational one must know a little each thing, from the instrumental and operational point of view (connection of equipment of audio, video, etc) handling and update of software, design of pages Web, blog and many things more.

The teacher learns with his students, teachers with teachers, thanks to the cooperation and work in equipment.

The motivation of the student increases, and this one quick greater attention to the explanations, since the children usually are customary to the monotony of the traditional system.

Digitalization of the majority of the information (as much dependency of pencil and paper does not exist)

Greater access to the education of the students with special educational needs

Disadvantages:

Frequently the teacher feels overwhelmed by his work reason why often they prefer the classic method.

Given to the amount and variety of information, it is easy that the student relaxes and wastes time sailing in pages that does not offer benefit him. The student can waste his objective and its time.

The students can feel saturated and in many cases they decide "to cut and to stick" information without processing it.

Bad use of the new technologies of the pupils.

Technical Problems.

The joint work between school, family and society is necessary for good results of the implementation of these new materials.
The family has been facilitating the work of the child and take care of materials. And the society has in its hands many possibilities of action like for example in Spain there are companies that offer internet at students of compulsory education, with nine euros per month they can sail by internet from 18:00 to 21:00. In addition, filter prevents access to content unsuitable for schoolchildren and thus guarantees using safe.

Finally, during my degree I had the opportunity to practice in some schools, these schools were ICT schools, and see how used new technologies makes me ask me if to invest that money in updating classes and provide them with all kinds of progress had not been better to use some of that money in teacher training. We would have less material but use we would do them would be much better.

If you want to know more about that you can read this web page, Click here (It´s in Spanish) or you can ask me what you want.
